Correction: The hearing is going on right now and is being publicly aired. Likely the jury isn't watching this.
Trial will resume at 11 MST this morning. I believe there is a closed hearing this morning with Sky Hughes and Gus Searcy, and that is why there is a delay in the public trial.
Yesterday, Jodi Arias's testimony left off when she recounted her leaving Mesa driving a U-Haul truck and a car she got from Travis towed behind it. The car went gunnysack because it was towed incorrectly, and her testimony finished with her recalling that Travis said to the effect that everything she touched "turned to shit."
Update: Trial ended at 3:30 PST/4:30 MST and will resume at 10:30 MST tomorrow.
Jodi's testimony today centered on some text messages and emails between her and Travis Alexander. Once again his image of Mr. Clean was pretty much blown out of the water. He was insistent she remain his "secret" even after she helped him with a book he was writing; he didn't even want to acknowledge her in the book.
I am not a Mormon, but it appears EVERYTHING in that church is about how one looks to the group. He seemed not to be able to let go of her, yet he not only wouldn't publicly acknowledge her as his girlfriend, he couldn't even acknowledge her as his friend.
If she can keep her demeanor the same on cross-examination by Juan Martinez, he is going to have his work cut out for him, as much of the prosecution's theory has been blown to bits, and all of it through evidence like text messages and especially that phone sex call. It'll be interesting to see how that goes.
I have kept my mind open about this case, so I have conflicting opinions about it other than the simple fact this isn't murder one. That view hasn't changed one iota.
