Good for Washington State

However, Duncan will withhold the money in his extortion scheme, and never mind the entire thing is illegal to begin with.

These "national standards" or "carrot-baseball bat" schemes are illegal because of the separation of powers. The federal government has no right to mandate curriculum, evaluations, or student standards. Their power is limited on what they can and can't do in education, mostly their power lies in enforcing civil rights protections. I wish the American people got as upset over this as they are over the CIA-Senate mess. It's more insidious.

Suing the federal government is one option; impeachment of Duncan and Obama is another. Since "reform" has so infected both political parties, the chances of either happening are virtually nil.
