Well, it appears that WCSD had to cough up much more money in the Pedro Martinez settlement than previously believed. The insurance carrier didn't pick up as much of the tab as had been believed.
If the district's board had followed the law in the first place, none of this would have happened.
Speaking of which, the board whittled down the number of candidates for the open board seat position to five. None of them appear to be worth a shit.
The best applicant was one who was eliminated in the first round, perhaps because he had sued the district over the mistreatment of a teacher by a principal who is no longer there.
