Obituary: Science fiction author and screenwriter George Clayton Johnson, 86, died Tuesday. He became known for writing a script for Alfred Hitchcock Presents and had one for the original Ocean's 11 film, both of which helped launch his career. He also wrote the first episode of the original Star Trek series.
However, he is better known for his work for Rod Serling and scripted several episodes of his famous Twilight Zone series.
He wrote eight episodes in all:
"The Four of Us Are Dying"
"The Prime Mover"
"Kick the Can"
"Nothing in the Dark"
"A Game of Pool"
"Penny For Your Thoughts"
"Ninety Years Without Slumbering"
More is here. He looked like an over-aged hippie. Like one, he pushed for the legalization of marijuana and was known as a daily user of the drug.
