Wednesday Reads

When half of the adult population doesn't even bother to vote, why the hell should the Democratic Party waste a bit of time trying to convert the racists and bigots who voted for Trump?

At least one city in Orange County, California, a county once a bastion of Republicanism, is telling Trump to stick it up his ass.

Trump had NO "ground game." This article is unadulterated bullshit.

Apart from Russia and the hackers, it was the media that was responsible for this mess. Beginning with Zucker's CNN, the media were sucking Trump off day after day, month after month.

He never should have made it past Iowa. He was never a serious candidate.

Another damned violent incident at a Washoe County School District school, this one at Hug High School, which isn't far away from where I used to live before moving to Oregon in 2010:

A student at Hug High School was shot by police Wednesday after brandishing a knife, according to authorities and videos of the incident posted to social media.

Here are the key details of the situation:

A campus police officer shot a knife-wielding student who was fighting with a classmate.
A 16-year-old was taken to Renown in Reno after he was shot by a campus police officer, Nevada Department of Public Safety Director James Wright told The Associated Press. His condition is unknown.
Students who take the bus were being released at 2:25 p.m.. Students who drive would be released after that, school officials said, then students whose parents were there to pick them up would be allowed to leave.
Spokespeople for Reno police and the school district would not confirm any of the details of the incident other than a person was injured at the school and sent to the hospital.
Tim Broadway with the Reno Police Department said the parents of students who were brought to the Reno Police Department or elsewhere for questioning were contacted by the school district.
During the incident, students were told to shelter in the school.
The 911 call came in shortly before 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.

You are not the only one who is distressed by this horrendous election outcome.
