Friday Reads

Michael Moore has been proven to be a liar about why people voted for Trump, so he needs to shut the fuck up.

Ditto for Bernie Sanders.

The economy had nothing to do with it. Bigotry did.

A few obits:

Lord Snowden, who was once married to Princess Margaret, has died at the age of 86. They married in 1960 and divorced in 1978.

He was also known as a photographer and filmmaker.

William Blatty, novelist who wrote the massive bestseller The Exorcist, died of multiple myeloma at the age of 89.

. Written in 1971, "The Exorcist" was never intended to be a horror novel. When Blatty started it, he told the Los Angeles Times, he intended to write "a supernatural detective story that was filled with suspense with theological overtones." He wasn't trying to be scary – but as he delved into the Roman Catholic ritual of exorcism, he created a terrifying tale for the ages.

He was once a ghostwriter for Abigail "Dear Abby" Van Buren.

David Modell, 55, formerly president of the Baltimore Ravens football team, has died after a long battle with lung cancer.

His mother was actress Patricia Breslin, who was seen on many television shows of the 1950s and 1960s, but she pretty much retired after she married Art Modell in 1969. He adopted her two sons, including David. Breslin died in 2011, while Art Modell died in 2012.

The son of former Baltimore Ravens owner Art Modell, he served as the team’s president from 1996 to 2004, when the team was sold to a new ownership group led by Steve Biscotti. The younger Modell was in charge of negotiating player contracts as well as running other aspects of the team’s business.
